Choosing and paying for your child’s education is a difficult process and our hope is that we can help you discover the gifts of the Banff Hockey Academy experience.
Our goal is to make sure that we help you decide that the BHA will be a place for your child to flourish. This is a crucial time in your son or daughter's development and making the decision to attend should not be solely based on finances. After your discovery that the BHA will be a great place for your child, we’ll do our best to create a financial scenario to make it happen.
We hope that your family will have a heart to heart discussion on the costs to attend the BHA and determine that paying for this experience is a priority in your child's education and a responsibility that you will share.
We also want to ensure that this experience is available to all students who’s goals are harmonious with the BHA regardless of your financial circumstances and therefore families should not be discouraged from applying to the BHA because of limited financial resources.
Fees and Payment Policies
Our goal is to ensure that the BHA experience is always able to function without compromise providing your child with the greatest educational and life experience possible.
The cost for a full year term (10 months) for an international student is $ 39,750.00 CDN funds. For Canadian students, the cost is $ 32,750.00 CDN.
The BHA’s primary method of meeting its operating expenses is through the collection of tuition fees. The tuition fees collected pay for all aspects of your child’s experience in Banff with the exception of personal equipment costs, travel costs to and from home at holiday and break periods, and the incidental spending of your child.
Academically, the tuition pays for registration into the Banff Community High School and the continual academic guidance provided through tutorials held Monday through Thursdays.
post-graduate students have the option to take courses on-line and/or take SAT prep courses. The costs for these programs are ancillary to the tuition costs mentioned above however, the continual academic guidance provided through tutorials held Monday through Thursdays is included in the tuition costs.
Athletically, the tuition covers all ice time, coaching fees, trainer fees, gym use and travel expenses of each team. Individual registration and insurance fees to Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta are also a part of the costs covered by student tuition fees. Athletic clothing is also a part of the tuition fees.
The tuition also covers all of the room and board expenses of each student. Typical household bills like groceries, utilities and house maintenance are all items that our operating budget covers. Included in our room and board budget is the staffing costs for chefs, cooks and dorm supervisory staff.
