Education: All high school students attend the Banff Community High School and follow the Alberta Learning curriculum. Mandatory study halls are held 4 nights per week for 1.5 hours. These study halls will be tutored by qualified teachers.

Accommodation & Meals: All non local Prep team athletes are housed at the BHA residence located at 338 Banff Avenue or billeted by a Banff family. Each billet family is required to complete a careful screening process. Team meals and snacks are hosted at the BHA residence.

Dressing Room: The Men's Prep program has its own dressing room at the arena as well as laundry facilities, weight room, skate sharpening and physiotherapy rooms.

The BHA Prep team trains both on and off the ice daily. Practices are held from Monday -Friday for 75 minutes. Off ice training takes place either before skating sessions or after them. The Prep team plays 36 games in the Canadian Sports School League (CSSHL) and approximately 18-24 games in playoff and tournament action.

Our off-ice program consists of four-seventy five minute sessions per week. During this time, we employ a variety of training disciplines from weight training, speed, agility and quickness to peak mental performance coaching. These different methods all aid in the development of a more mature, physically and mentally balanced athlete. Our program is created and implemented by the BHA’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. The off-ice sessions occur at various locations throughout Banff depending on the type of workouts. The facilities used  for our programs are Banff Community High School Gym and Weight Room, the Sally Borden Fitness and Recreation Centre, and the local track and field grounds.

The typical age of a PREP team member is 17 - 18 years of age. However, players can be 15 or 16 years of age as the team is built on ability first.
